Australia has unveiled plans to prohibit tv and radio broadcasts of sports betting chances throughout live sports betting matches in a bid to curb issue .
Gambling ads will no longer appear during live events and around sporting places, the federal government stated.
Prime Minister Julia Gillard said Australians had actually become "increasingly annoyed" with the promotions.
The broadcasting industry is expected to submit a revised code to Australia's media watchdog showing the changes.
"From the moment that the gamers step onto the field, to the moment that they leave the field, there will be no live chances," Ms Gillard told a press conference.
"This is good news for households, due to the fact that households I think have become progressively disappointed about the penetration of live odds into sporting coverage."

Under the brand-new guidelines, advertisements would just be enabled before or after a video game, or throughout a set up break in play, such as quarter-time and half-time.
'Focus of video game'
Promotion of wagering chances by bookies who appear to be part of broadcast groups will also be prohibited.
The National Rugby League, which in the past has actually permitted bookmakers to offer chances during broadcasts, stated it agreed with the federal government's plan.
"The frustrating belief is that we do not want to see sports betting as the main focus of our game," NRL president Dave Smith said.
"Fans, and especially young fans, need to not be subject to excessive promotion of sports betting during matches.
"We desire young kids to be enjoying the abilities of their favourite team, not quoting the odds."
The broadcasting market is anticipated to submit a revised code to the Australian Communications and Media Authority, said the federal government.
It estimates that up to 500,000 Australians are at risk of becoming, or are, problem bettors.
